Everyone loves being outdoors and enjoying the sunshine but the sun can be nasty to your skin if you do not take precautions. Over exposure to the sun can cause you to get a sunburn and

can cause you to have what is called sunburn swelling. This is when your skin is burnt and irritated to the point is actually swells.
Skin swelling can be very painful and make it hard to even wear the lightest of clothes. If you are a person that enjoys being outdoors then you will want to know the best sunburn swelling treatments to help ease your pain and get you up and moving around again. The quicker you start treatment, the quicker your sunburn will heal and the pain will ease up.
You want to be sure to try and elevate the areas that are swelling such as arms or legs. You want to cool the skin but you will also need to put moisture back into it. Some people recommend using witch hazel to help cool the skin. You can sock cotton balls with the witch hazel and then apply softly to the skin. Another way to help take the sting and swelling out of skin swelling is to take tea bags (black tea) and soak them in cool water then apply them to the skin. You can also take the water they soaked in and apply that with a compress such as bread towels as they are soft to the skin.
You need to rehydrate your body so be sure to drink plenty of fluids. It is important to stay clear of creams as they will cause you more problems then you need. form and from the sunburn swelling and it is important that you try not to scratch at the areas as this can cause more pain and can even cause scarring. You can try soaking in an oatmeal bath or applying compresses with a mixture of milk and baking soda to draw the heat out of the skin.
You can take over the counter pain medications such as aspirin or Motrin for the swelling and the pain. You can also buy over the counter

gels to heal relieve pain temporarily. If you are suffering with sunburn swelling be sure to start treatment as soon as possible. Keep the area elevated and clean. If pain persists then you will want to seek the advice of your doctor.
