Sunburn Spray

Tips to Choosing the Most Effective Sunburn Spray

Whether you live in one of the worlds warmer climates, or you are one of the unlucky few that only gets to enjoy the sun's warm rays for a few months during the year, you probably love to spend as much time as possible in the sun's warm rays. While many of us prefer to obtain that summer glow, there are times that we may spend more time out in the sun than we should, which most commonly results in painful sunburn that leaves us whimpering in pain for hours on end while desperately looking for the one solution that can make the pain more tolerable, at least for a little while. Here are some tips that can help you choose the right sunburn spray so you can successfully numb the pain of your burn, at least a short amount of time.

First, you will want to look for a sunburn spray that contains some form of aloe vera. If you have spent any amount of time searching the internet for natural sunburn cures, you may have found that aloe vera is one of the best products you can use to help soothe and heal painful sunburn. Unlike other chemically created products, aloe vera helps by cooling the affected area as soon as it's applied to the burn. It also helps to create a protective layer on the burn which helps to retain the skins moisture which prevents your skin from dehydrating which allows it to heal faster than with other products. Aloe vera can also be obtained directly from the aloe plant making it great to have around the house, especially if you are particularly prone to burns.

Second, consider a product that contains some form of cucumber extract. While the cucumber itself may not heal the sunburn, it can help soothe the painful effect that the sun has had on your skin. You will want to make sure that the product you choose contains a mix of healing and cooling elements to get the most out of your sunburn healing product.

Lastly, look for a sunburn spray that contains vitamin E. Since vitamin E has been known for many years for the positive healing effects it can have on your skin, it shouldn't come as a surprise that vitamin E can be equally helpful in healing sunburn. While it may not calm the burn, it will help speed up the healing process of your skin, allowing the burn to heal faster than if you were to let your burn heal on its own. Products that contain other cooling ingredients, like eucalyptus and peppermint oil can provide the cooling element that you need to calm the effects of your burn. Just make sure the product contains vitamin E and your burn may be a distant memory before you know it.

These are just a few of the ingredients you need to be on the lookout for when choosing a sunburn spray. Look for products that contain aloe vera and vitamin E and you are sure to find the best product that will help soothe your skin for years to come.
