Sunburn Relief Tips

Sunburn Relief Tips

When a sunburn occurs, we usually don't know it until that evening or the next morning. When it comes on it's hard to find the best sunburn aid at that time without making a trip to the local store. Anyone can go to the store and purchase a sunburn spray or lotion, but whether or not it's the best option remains to be seen. What it comes down to is if you don't need to spend the money, don't.

Try Baking Soda

Most people who are looking for sunburn relief take a cool bath in the beginning. Obviously this is to calm the pain, but adding a couple cups of baking soda to the tub could help out even more. Normally it only takes about 10-15 minutes, but in this case we recommend trying to stay in there for about a half hour. This sunburn cure regimen will often diminish the inflammation that is a occurring.

Certain Vegetables like Cucumbers

Sometimes the best sun burn relief is sitting right in the fridge. If a cucumber is available, cut it up into thin slices and apply it directly to the burn. Keep in mind that it's going to smell a bit, but taking a bath first is important. This will open the pores again and allow the cucumber juice to do its job properly and more effectively. Even others similar like tomatoes or even fruits like lemons and limes can help. Just keep in mind that the last two need to be combined with something.

Milk and Honey

For years people have used milk to cool the burning sensations from the sun. However, as our technology evolves it's been known that a good mixture of milk and honey can be much more effective. Simply place a half cup of each in a bowl and stir it up. Once they are blended together it makes one of the best sunburn relief options out there today. Honey can also be used by itself, but the combination is that much better.

Check the Bathroom

If by chance the kitchen isn't stocked with all of these essentials, there are other options available. Head to the bathroom and grab the shaving cream. Applying it to the skin can give each sunburn the relief it needs to make it through the next hour or two if it's left on long enough. While it's not the best sunburn cure formula, it definitely helps for a short period of time.

Over the Counter Options

If heading to the store is a priority for the sunburn cure , take a look at some of the off-the-wall options. Products like Calamine lotion are a given, but Noxzema, Pepto-Bismol, and even Gold Bond Medication lotion is helpful. Just keep in mind that the product that is used needs to give as much sun burn relief as possible. Having to apply something every 20 minutes is definitely not the answer.

Others Available

To be honest, there is a long list of sunburn aid options out there today. Whether it's soaking in oatmeal, applying different sprays ( with aloe vera gel ), or even boiling fruits and vegetables, then cooling the water to use as a spray, these are all options. Obviously it's going to depend on the severity of the burn, so keep that in mind as well. Hopefully with help like this, the sunburn relief will come sooner. Top.
