There is no doubt that at some point you have experienced the excruciating pain that is a sunburn, and there is even a chance that you are going through that right now considering you are seeking a way to get rid of one. There are a few things that you can do to heal a sunburn quickly, and while some might not work for you, there is no reason not to try them because eventually you’re bound to stumble across something that works perfectly.
The first thing that you can do is take aspirin or some form of it. This will ease the pain making it so that you can go about your daily routine without any issues. Always make sure that you consult with your doctor before taking any medication so that you don’t end up with any complications beyond a simple sunburn.
The next thing that you can do to heal a sunburn quickly is take a hot shower. This seems counterproductive and your first instinct will probably be to take a cold shower, but you should in fact try a hot one. The reason for this is that the hot water draws the heat away from your body, and it will draw blood to the affect areas to expedite the entire healing process.
If you don’t feel like taking a hot shower or it simply does not work then you can try taking an ice bath. By this method, you would get the water as cold as you can possibly stand and if you can take it then you could try dumping some ice into the tub. If anything, this will help you to feel a little bit better so that you can stand the burn.
You can also try taking aloe that contains allantoin. Allantoin is great for healing a sunburn quickly as humanly possible, and you will find that it does a great job of soothing the burn and keeping you from being constantly in pain. Finding aloe should be relatively easy as you will locate it on the shelf of your favorite drugstore or even in a retail store. It comes in many different forms and all that you need to do is talk to the pharmacist or ask a store employee to help you.
While a sunburn can be extremely painful, you do not absolutely have to lay down and suffer though the pain. Though many people do that, there are things that can be done about sunburn and many of them are pretty obvious. If you are unsure of a treatment then talk to you doctor and have him or her tell you what the best course of action would be either before or during a sunburn. Of course, the best way to get rid of a sunburn is to not get it at all! So wear sunscreen and be careful.
