Burn Injuries Treatments

Burn injuries can come in many forms, but the one that most people don't care too much about is sunburn. It seems that more people would worry about getting too much sun as that can lead to skin cancer. One of the more prevalent types of scald injuries in children is sunburn. This article is going to concentrate on many home remedies that are available in the treatment of sunburn. The first thing you are going to have to determine is how much of your body has actually been burned by the sun's rays. You must also consider whether it is just a first degree burn which is only a reddening of the skin, or does it seem to be deep and have blisters which are second degree burns.

If your sunburn happens to be only of the first degree, there are many over-the-counter remedies that can be purchased. Make sure you choose one that contains no alcohol. It will definitely cause unneeded pain to the area.
If you try to find a product that contains aloe vera, then you are on the right track! This has been used down through the centuries for scald injuries. Aloe vera contains compounds that not only promote healing but it also keeps the healing tissue hydrated and moist.
When you have burn injuries in children that have been caused by the sun, put them in cool bath water that contains powdered colloidal oatmeal. This product is naturally soothing and not only takes away the heat that was caused by getting sunburned but it actually keeps the skin moist.

You will be able to find another natural sunburn remedy inside of your refrigerator. If you happen to have cucumbers, thinly slice them and place the slices over the worst part of your sunburn. If you happen to own a juicer, you can actually juice the cucumber, put the juice in a spray bottle and apply it to your sunburn as often as you need to between baths.

In the case of burn injuries by sunburn, a very old-fashioned remedy happens to be apple cider vinegar. Use one part of vinegar to two parts of water and you have a spray solution for your sunburn. Spray it over your sunburn in a fine mist as often as you need to in order to experience relief. It is best to keep this mixture chilled so that it will help the skin to stay moisturized. Some people have reported no peeling or scarring after they have used this solution.

The old standby for burn injuries is aloe vera juice. You can purchase this product in a few different forms such as a gel or a juice. You can not only drink this juice but apply it to the affected sunburned area as well. You must make sure that it contains no alcohol. Just like the apple cider mixture, the aloe vera juice can be put in a mister that has a fine spray mode. You can also refrigerate the aloe vera to experience an incredibly effective remedy for sunburn.

There is one last thing to consider when you experience burn injuries by sunburn. You must drink as much water as possible in order to keep hydrated. When you get a sunburn, not only the skin has dried out but your whole body has been affected by the shock to your system. Your body will need the extra moisture in order to effectively repair your skin. Top.
